CTEH Spotlight: Anton Avguchenko (Part II)

We’re back with Part II of the CTEH Spotlight on Anton Avguchenko, one of our resident technology geniuses. Find out more about Anton below:

You recently helped create CARBON to help improve efficiencies during disaster recovery work. What are some additional benefits of using this software?

CARBON has significantly improved efficiencies on longer-term construction projects with line-item tasks. But its biggest strength is its versatility. With CARBON, we wanted to create a system that could be modified to keep up with the ever-changing needs and requirements of our teams on the ground. We searched for a suitable platform, and today we have an online database that works well on computers, tablets and phones. It has been a challenge, but a joy, to work alongside my colleagues to bring this product to our clients.

You’ve helped CTEH stay on the leading edge of technology. Where do you see the company headed in the future?

Right now, responses can be negatively affected by errors in traditional communication channels (i.e., missed phone calls, incorrect email addresses). In the future, I hope CTEH will provide even more automation services to solve this issue. Consider the management of electronic equipment inventory as an example. The company wants to have a current status on each item. What happens if the equipment becomes inoperable? CTEH could create software so, with one click of a button, the appropriate contact would be notified and given the necessary details to repair or replace the item. With another click, the person in charge of the inventory would be notified that the problem is solved. By creating this type of automation software, I believe we can significantly improve communication between stakeholders during projects.

Why and when did you join the CTEH team?

Before joining the company in 2006, I worked at my alma mater, Henderson State University, as a network technician. When CTEH approached me about being part of the technology team, I didn’t hesitate. I had several school friends who worked here, and I’d always been intrigued by their work. It’s been a really fun ride. During my more than 10 years with the company, my colleagues and I have had the opportunity to create many different technology solutions, which I believe have the potential to revolutionize our industry.
