Employee of the Month: Peter Foreman

Since joining CTEH in 2013 as an Environmental Scientist, Peter Foreman, IT Specialist, has proven to be a role model for his colleagues as well as an invaluable asset for our clients. Over the past several months, his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and “get it done” attitude has been on full display as he’s supported simultaneous emergency response projects on the West Coast. No matter the challenge, he’s maintained his positive attitude to find quality solutions. Learn more about Peter, our January Employee of the Month, in the Q&A below:

What initially brought you to CTEH?
Right after graduation, I joined CTEH excited to work in the environmental science field and travel across the country. I quickly developed an interest in the data team and was able to move to that division in 2014. This job has allowed me to develop the skill set needed to be an effective data manager while keeping my foot in environmental science. It’s the best of both worlds.

What does your role entail?
Our end goal is to provide stakeholders with the necessary information to help them make actionable, data-driven decisions. I work with our field scientists to facilitate accurate and timely data collection; organize and maintain project data streams; and, ultimately, produce requested deliverables (e.g., maps). I also work closely with our toxicologists to support ongoing projects.

How has your work evolved during COVID-19?
Prior to the pandemic, I spent a lot of time traveling to various emergency response (ER) sites. Generally, moderate or large-scale ERs are managed from a central incident command post. However, COVID-19 means most of that work is now virtual. Maintaining constant communication with on-the-ground field teams and clients is vital.

What do you enjoy most about working at CTEH?
I am lucky to work with an extremely talented group of individuals who have diverse professional backgrounds. Everyone wants to help achieve our goals, and I believe that shared commitment drives the quality CTEH is known for in the industry. It also really helps having such a fun group of colleagues on long days or when far away from home.

Thank you, Peter, for your continued hard work. We’re proud of you!
