CTEH® Expands to Denver

DENVER, Colo. (Feb. 26, 2019) – CTEH®, one of the leading environmental consulting firms in North America, is expanding to Colorado. Derek Drechsel, Ph.D. and Tami McMullin, Ph.D. will lead the new Denver office.

“From its beginnings as an emergency response company more than 20 years ago, CTEH has significantly expanded its services and presence,” said John Kind, Ph.D., principal toxicologist and senior vice president of CTEH’s Health Sciences Division. “We are excited to open this office and bring our internationally-recognized, crisis-tested expertise to Colorado.”

Dr. Derek Drechsel, project toxicologist, brings more than five years of consulting experience to CTEH. He previously served as a consultant in Boulder, Colorado, where he specialized in toxicology, product safety and risk assessments. An experienced researcher with more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles, he received his bachelor’s in biology from Pennsylvania State University and Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Colorado.

Industry veteran Dr. Tami McMullin will serve as one of the firm’s senior toxicologists. Prior to CTEH, she worked as a regulatory and consulting toxicologist for an international chemical company and state toxicologist for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Most recently, she has led internationally recognized research evaluating public health risks related to community-based exposures in the upstream oil and gas sector. She holds a bachelor’s in biology from the University of California San Diego and a Ph.D. in toxicology from Colorado State University.
