CTEH Spotlight: Cory Davis

Meet Cory Davis, partner and principal consultant at CTEH. Since joining our team more than 15 years ago, Cory has fulfilled various roles within the company—from industrial hygienist to the first manager dedicated to the Toxicology Emergency Response Program (TERP) to Vice President of Operations. This week, we’re visiting with Cory about his accomplishments and how he’s given back to CTEH and our industry.

What does your current position of partner and principal consultant entail?

Customer service and relationship management. I’m responsible for coordinating with the client and the CTEH team on large-scale projects related to emergency response, industrial hygiene, environmental consulting and emergency preparedness. Along with CTEH’s other partners, we work to drive the strategy and vision of CTEH.

What other roles have you held at CTEH?

I joined CTEH in 2000 as an industrial hygienist. Three years later, I became manager of our Toxicology Emergency Response Program and gained invaluable experience managing hundreds of hazardous material release responses. In 2010, I was promoted to Vice President of Operations.

What’s the best part of working at CTEH?

The people. My CTEH colleagues are some of the best regarded in this industry—both nationally and globally. The CTEH culture of providing top quality service to our clients and making this high level of service available 24/7/365 is truly unique. It is really fun to be a part of such a dedicated and diligent team of professionals.

You’ve been a big contributor to the industrial hygiene industry. Can you tell us more about some of your publications?

I’m proud to be a contributing author of the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s Incident Safety and Health Management Handbook and one of the authors of TestNET©, an air monitoring protocol that shortens the time between the onset of an emergency and the start of environmental sampling.

Where do you see CTEH going in the future?

With our new employee-ownership model, I believe CTEH is well positioned to recruit and retain the next generation of scientific and management leaders and further expand our company’s footprint.
