Saluting Abby Kellett and Christine Millner

More than 30,000 Americans today live with cystic fibrosis (CF), a progressive, genetic disease that causes mucus buildup in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. While the severity of individuals’ symptoms may vary, those impacted by CF are often plagued by continual lung infections, malnutrition, poor growth, liver disease, and shortened life spans. Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CF Foundation) has focused on “adding tomorrows” for those with CF through drug development, innovative treatment options, and specialized care. To date, the foundation has funded hundreds of millions of dollars in groundbreaking scientific research. These efforts have significantly increased the life expectancy of those with CF—from approximately 10 years of age to more than 40—so individuals are able to live longer, healthier lives.

Here at CTEH, we’re proud to recognize two employees who have joined the CF Foundation of Arkansas in its fight against this disease. Last month, our very own marketing manager Abby Kellett was honored as one of Little Rock Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 2018 Finest Young Professionals for her leadership, community service, and business excellence at the organization’s annual Taste of the Finest event. To help those with CF, Abby, along with her generous CTEH colleagues, raised more than $4,200 for research, patient services, and the foundation’s other mission activities. She was joined in her fundraising efforts by Christine Millner, MBA, our director of quality management, CF Foundation of Arkansas board member, and Taste of the Finest committee member. With a combined fundraising total of more than $7,000, Abby and Christine were part of the hardworking team that helped raise more than $200,000 for the CF Foundation of Arkansas.

Congratulations, Abby and Christine on a job well done! Thanks to your unfailing support, we’re one step closer to finding a cure. To find out more about the CF Foundation, its research accomplishments, and drug pipeline, visit cff.org.
