Temperilli appointed to Chemical Transportation Advisory Committee

Great news! John Temperilli, one of CTEH’s senior consultants, was recently appointed to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC). A 30-year veteran of international and domestic crisis response, John will help provide counsel, technical advice and expertise to the U.S. Coast Guard’s Marine Safety and Environmental Protection Directorate on the safe marine transportation of hazardous materials.

These issues are unique to the Coast Guard because, unlike other industry workers who are protected by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, marine workers are protected solely by Coast Guard regulations and Merchant Marine Act of 1920 (Jones Act). John will join other members of CTAC including vessel operators, chemical shippers, environmental response sector representatives, environmental safety and health officials, non-profits, government agencies and educational institutions in directly advising the Coast Guard.

Please join CTEH in congratulating John Temperilli on his new appointment! For more information about CTAC and its members, visit the U.S. Coast Guard website.
