It takes more than just management experience to be a good mentor. And when it comes to going above and beyond, look no further than Anton Avguchenko, CTEH’s senior programmer and data developer.
Anton was the recipient of 2019’s Jay Gandy Outstanding Mentor Award. This award recognizes the contributions of an individual who takes others under their wing and shares his or her experiences in order to increase someone else’s opportunities and professional growth. Anton has been that individual. He raised and led a team of a dozen data managers within the company and has continued to pass down his expertise to the professionals he manages. For example, following a recent series of disasters in Texas, Anton mentored his team through design and implementation of three unique client-facing web applications over the span of just a couple of weeks, all while working from the inside of a GMC Yukon.
He encourages his staff to build their skills, not to accept “the way it’s always been,” and to keep innovating even in the face of seemingly impossible tasks. We’re excited to see the future talent developed under Anton’s capable oversight.
