CTEH is excited to be part of the inaugural Clean Waterways Conference in Louisville, Kentucky! The first of its kind, this event was established to enhance the prevention and response to oil and hazardous materials spill on our nation’s inland waterways. Cory Davis, CTEH partner and principal consultant, was proud to serve on the advisory committee that helped plan the annual event. In addition to Cory, CTEH has several experts presenting at this year’s conference. Check out more about their sessions below:
•Incident Command—Who’s in Charge of What?: John Temperilli, MPA will present during the “Incident Command—Who’s in Charge of What” breakout session on Wednesday, June 28 from 10:15-11:45 a.m. on “Performance, Practice and Politics in a High-Profile Response.” His presentation will highlight lessons learned and review best practices in mitigating hazards associated with train derailments, including a case study from a FEMA Type I Train Derailment.
•Innovative Oil Spill Response Technologies: Kyle Lawrence will speak about environmental monitoring during the release of oil and other hazardous materials on inland waterways during a breakout session on “Innovative Oil Spill Response Technologies” on Wednesday, June 28 from 10:15-11:45 a.m.
•Planning and Preparedness—Part II: Cory Davis will chair a breakout session on “Planning and Preparedness—Part II,” which will highlight response planning, the tools needed to produce effective plans and how to best maintain compliance with requirements for response planning.
