A core belief at CTEH is to serve our community and those in need. This time a year ago, April 24, 2014, a devastating tornado hit very close to home near our headquarters in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and impacted some of our very own associates. The days following, associates volunteered their time and gave of their treasures to those in need. This year, we find ourselves again wanting to help those in need due to a close connection with the country of Nepal. Over the next several weeks and months, several international organizations and Nepali volunteers will need food, medicine, tents, and clothes. Since making the journey to Nepal is not currently possible for us, CTEH is going to match associate donations.
According to Global Finance Nepal is one of the top 20 poorest countries in the world, based on gross domestic product. So, every dollar counts! For example, $1 USD is equivalent to 101 Nepalese Rupees, which is enough to buy 5 meals or two shirts! For a frame of reference, other countries within that list include Liberia, Haiti, Afghanistan, and South Sudan, to name a few.
How can you help Nepal? Great question. Below are a few notable organizations.

A great benefit we offer at CTEH is community service hours. Every full-time associate is allowed to take a certain number of paid hours to assist an organization within the community. An example of hours used in 2014 include: leading Girl Scout expeditions; serving on a Board of a local non-profit; raising money to support cancer research; administering flu vaccines to underserved school aged children; and, assisting with the clean-up of the tornado destruction. We are very proud of these associates and their efforts!
We hope this inspires you to join us in assisting Nepal!
