For more than 12 years now, CTEH senior consultant Mike Niles has been an active member at Grace Church of Humble outside of Houston, Texas. In addition to serving as a pastoral assistant, he’s always hoped to become involved with his church’s international mission efforts. Last month, he fulfilled that lifelong dream as he traveled with a small group to Africa.

Located in central Tanzania, the town of Itigi is plagued by poverty. Often, the local pastors travel throughout the region on motorcycles or bicycles to serve their congregations. On incomes of approximately a dollar a day, they help villagers meet basic needs, learn sustainable trades or receive life-saving medical services.

Mike and his fellow church members provided these missionaries and their spouses with leadership training to help them further their impact. They equipped them with tools and resources to reach all members of the community—both young and old—and helped them lay the foundation for future children’s camps. In addition, Mike and his group had the opportunity to share in several church services.

On behalf of the entire CTEH team, we want to thank Mike for uplifting and inspiring others across the world!
