Getting to Know Our Newest Consultants

When looking for a guide to help us through the emergency response or disaster recovery process, we want to turn to trusted experts who can provide timely, high-quality support. Josh Lynn and Daniel Schenkel understand this need firsthand. Before joining CTEH, Josh and Daniel witnessed and benefited from CTEH’s “ability to deliver” on projects. We recently spoke with them about how they aim to further CTEH’s reputation as the industry’s most “well-versed and respected” scientific experts. Learn more in our Q&A below:

Can you briefly tell us more about your new roles at CTEH?

Lynn: I’ve seen how CTEH’s expertise, experience, and cutting-edge services can help those in need navigate complex challenges, and I hope to do the same as part of its sales team. I will use my experience in emergency response, disaster recovery, and industrial hygiene to serve our partners, focusing on Texas and south Louisiana, where I’ve spent much of my career.

Schenkel: Like Josh, I plan to harness my 15 years within the industry to help those facing large-loss natural disasters like hurricanes. As the incidence of these events increases, including along our coastlines, I expect demand for services like moisture mapping and damage assessments to continue growing.

Can you give us a glimpse into your background in the environmental services industry?

Lynn: I first worked for a used oil processor, managing day-to-day and financial operations for three facility units. After more than a decade there, I decided to try my hand at sales and business development. I later landed at an environmental and disaster response company and have been in the industry since. During my career, I’ve worked alongside the Incident Command System on large-scale projects, such as Hurricane Harvey and New York City’s COVID-19 responses. I understand how to approach challenges with urgency, empathy, and effectiveness.

Schenkel: I’ve spent my career in disaster recovery. In addition to a long list of industry certifications like water damage restoration, I’ve tackled the nuances that often come with emergency responses. I’ve held varied roles, from on-call field technician and program manager to restoration contractor and director of operations. These unique experiences allow me to anticipate what partners need and how to help because I’ve been in their positions before.

What are you most looking forward to as part of the CTEH team?

Lynn: I’m excited to broaden my expertise in emergency response, disaster recovery, and industrial hygiene alongside what I consider to be the industry’s most well-known experts.

Schenkel: CTEH is synonymous with quality. I am proud to put my name behind a team that I know can—and will—deliver for our partners.
