CTEH® Welcomes New Toxicologist, Emergency Response Consultant

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 6, 2020) – CTEH has welcomed Jessica Chopyk, PhD, a toxicologist, and James Pratt, a seasoned emergency response consultant, to its internationally-renowned team of scientific experts.

A published researcher, Chopyk previously worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California San Diego. Most recently, she helped identify potential sources of COVID-19 contamination on surfaces within a clinical sample processing center. She holds a doctoral degree in toxicology and environmental health from the University of Maryland, College Park as well as a master’s degree in plant and soil sciences and bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from the University of Delaware.

Pratt is a former petroleum executive and education and disaster expert for both government and private-sector entities. During his career, he has served on the front lines of notable oil and gas incidents and natural disasters, including as incident commander. He brings more than 30 years of emergency experience to the firm as an EMT; field and emergency room health professional; medical examiner; death examiner; volunteer firefighter; and sheriff’s deputy. He is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma.
