CTEH is proud to share that one of our own, Dr. Andre Richardson, was recently featured in the October/November 2025 issue of Urbane Magazine.
In the article, “The STEM Catalyst,” Dr. Richardson reflects on his journey to becoming the first in his family to earn a Ph.D. and how his mother’s health challenges sparked his passion for toxicology. Today, as a toxicologist at CTEH, he applies that passion to investigating environmental emergencies and translating complex science into information communities can understand and trust.
Beyond his technical expertise, Dr. Richardson’s work embodies the importance of representation in science. As a mentor and advocate for aspiring scientists of color, he strives to ensure that future generations see themselves reflected in the STEM fields. His story serves as a reminder that diversity in science not only strengthens innovation, but deepens understanding and compassion in the way research impacts people and communities.
Urbane Magazine’s feature celebrates Dr. Richardson as both a scientist and a role model—one who bridges the gap between research and real-world impact, and inspires others to pursue their own paths of discovery.
