About Evan

Evan Howell is an Exposure Scientist with CTEH’s Applied Science Group, bringing over five years of experience and more than 10,000 hours in emergency response and environmental assessment. He has supported over 23 HAZMAT incidents, from routine derailments and flaring events to complex, high-profile responses such as the 2024 chlorine release in Conyers, Georgia.
Evan specializes in environmental sampling, real-time air monitoring for both community and worker protection, and the execution of industrial hygiene practices under the guidance of Certified Industrial Hygienists. He has served in field leadership positions such as Environmental Specialist, Project Manager, and Assistant Safety Officer, and brings additional expertise as a licensed sUAS pilot specializing in aerial assessments.
Known for his adaptability in dynamic response environments, Evan excels at anticipating operational needs, integrating seamlessly into multidisciplinary teams, and fostering strong working relationships with clients and contractors. Prior to joining CTEH, he served in law enforcement, where he gained extensive experience in crisis management, emergency medical response, and incident command operations.
Evan’s technical expertise and solutions-oriented approach have made him a trusted partner in protecting worker and community health during high-stakes environmental events.
