About Lisa

Lisa Howes is the Environmental Response Team Leader with CTEH, specializing in managing large-scale environmental sampling events and remediation projects. With a dual B.S. in Bioenvironmental Sciences and Plant & Environmental Soil Science from Texas A&M University, Lisa brings a scientific foundation and hands-on experience to her work.

Over her career, Lisa has served as both a field lead and on-site project manager, tackling incidents involving oil spills, train derailments, chemical releases, and wildlife rehabilitation. Her expertise spans surface water, soil, sediment sampling, and air monitoring, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards. Lisa has collaborated with government agencies, private industries, and environmental stakeholders to safeguard human health and the environment.

Notable projects include serving as an on-site manager during the train derailments, coordinating sampling efforts after a large industrial fire , and providing wildlife rehabilitation care for oiled pelicans in Louisiana. Lisa is also certified in OSHA HAZWOPER, FEMA ICS, and numerous other safety and environmental protocols, making her a trusted leader in emergency response and environmental consulting.
