About Pablo
Dr. Pablo Sanchez Soria is a director of health sciences, senior toxicologist, and a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) with experience in human and environmental toxicology, risk assessment, and emergency response toxicology. Dr. Sanchez Soria obtained a B.S. with a double major in microbiology and nutritional sciences. Following his undergraduate research interests, Dr. Sanchez Soria pursued a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona, where his dissertation work characterized cardiovascular and metabolic pathophysiology in mice exposed to environmental arsenic chronically, as well as in-utero.
As a senior toxicologist at CTEH, Dr. Sanchez Soria specializes in risk and exposure assessment, toxicity evaluations, emergency response toxicology and complex industrial hygiene challenges. Dr. Sanchez Soria is a responding toxicologist in the CTEH Toxicology Emergency Response Program (TERP) and regularly served as a technical director, developing plans to protect workers and communities from chemical exposures in indoor and outdoor environments, in both residential and occupational settings. He has personally led air monitoring and environmental sampling teams on dozens of hazardous materials incidents and chemical releases.
Dr. Sanchez Soria has served various health and safety roles within an Incident Command Structure, alongside local, state, and federal agencies, making joint decisions that have a direct effect on public and worker health and safety. He has extensive experience in mechanisms of toxicity of a wide variety of chemical compounds, including hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), solvents, pesticides, irritant and odorous gases, metals, airborne particulate matter, combustion byproducts and various other toxicants that may present dermal, ingestion and inhalation hazards.
